A section supervisor can be allocated to various sections of a horticultural facility, including in the field, warehouse, greenhouse, or packing shed.
In the field, they will supervise a team of workers and coordinate daily tasks such as pruning, trimming, picking, tree training, and harvesting.
The role requires excellent communication skills to ensure tasks are being completed correctly by the workers – who might speak a different language.

"I transitioned into horticulture by accident — I came down for a summer holiday job and haven’t looked back. I love working outside, hearing the birds and bugs, and watching a tree grow from planting to fruiting. I wouldn’t look at another job."
